imagine heaven

Maestro Edwin Hawkins is now in the place that I have imagined for most of my 50+ years thru this song. This is the power of a song or a subject or a place in the hands of a writer like Edwin Hawkins. I imagine he has just arrived, with greatest anticipation and warmest welcome, to the club long inhabited by the Gershwins, Bernsteins, Berlins, Arlens and Bacharachs, both here and the place he so eloquently wrote about in this song. I hope this song is at the top of my playlist when it's my time to go. Would be a sweet way to go. Thank you Uncle Maestro. We love you. We love your baby brother and we love your whole family for what you gave to us.

an all time favorite

This was an album I loved playing when I was a kid. Edwin branched out into pop territory on many of the arrangments. One of my favorite tracks was the synthy "Secrete Place" Edwin usually arranges many of his song around the piano; so, it was nice to hear the synthesizer being used..especially when it was dominating secular music at this time. Other tracks is the soulful groovy track- "Take Me I'm Yours, and "What Will Tomorrow Bring?"
