Editors’ Notes When Jeff Buckley drowned in 1997 with only one album to his name, a huge amount of untapped potential was lost forever. All that was left behind to help soften the blow were the sessions for his unfinished second album, released in 1998 as Sketches for My Sweetheart the Drunk. The tracks sound more fully realized than many artists' final products. In contrast to Buckley's wildly eclectic debut, Grace, there's a greater stylistic consistency here. Yet several threads from Grace are picked up, including an Eastern melodic flavor ("New Year's Prayer"), heavy rock riffs ("Haven't You Heard"), and a steamy soulfulness ("Everybody Here Wants You").
