10 Songs, 52 Minutes

EDITORS’ NOTES

Although Jeff Buckley released just one album before his death in 1997, his legacy flourishes. This collection of single-take covers and demos celebrates his love of interpretation, from his melancholic reading of Bob Dylan’s “Just Like a Woman” to the jazzy “Don’t Let the Sun Catch You Cryin’” and swooning pop of The Smiths’ “The Boy With the Thorn in His Side.” The previously unreleased “Dream of You and I” is an eerie, intimate highlight, with Buckley pausing mid-song to recount a dream.

If this album, to u, is 'novocaine'. Your review is general anesthesia, probably just like your taste in music.
I think this album is all covers, not sure.
Jeff Buckley can make a cover sound like an original. Take solace in this though mr Boulder, at least he want be popping up on your fav 'classic rock' stations. Like a little 'one direction' do we? Or are u still lost in the 70s..80s and or 90s?
Mr Buckley falls into the same category as, Amy winehouse, Jimi Hendrix, Kurt cobain, lane staley and I could go on and on. The common denominator. Genius.

Love Jeff... But I don't think he would approve

There was a reason they chose the sine tracks over these in the first place. Jeff was an amazing talent, but these recording are of a very young man trying to find his voice. I don't believe Jeff would approve of this release. Why not release his WFMU recordings where he was razor sharp and in his element. 5 stars because Jeff is the best there was.
