14 Songs, 59 Minutes

EDITORS’ NOTES

One hallmark of Juan Gabriel's stardom is his ability to do just about anything. This compilation covers the first 15 years of his four decades (and counting) as one of Mexico's favorite performers. Yearning ballads have always been a specialty, notably on the original version of his oft-recorded signature tune "Querida." But he’s equally fluent with country songs ("El Noa Noa") and mariachi ("Ya para Que"). He even flirts with disco; check the popping bassline on "Tus Ojos Mexicaños Lindos."
