EDITORS’ NOTES

The piano man holds nothing back on an ambitious second outing. With a notably brighter sound, the much-fancied Brit seeks to transfuse his keyboard indie from moody music halls to giddy arenas. Although the earnest tinkling remains (the mournful “Jealousy” and exultant “Somehow”), “Magnetised” has a soaring EDM-imbued chorus, “Concrete” taps into Odell’s showmanship and “Daddy” hits harder rock notes. He’s successfully switched sides.

pure feeling

Nobody sings and plays with as much emotion as this kid. He’s a musical genius. Magnetised is great, check out the acoustic version too. Can’t wait for the rest.

It's a must have

Tom Odell's second album consists of the same passion in his voice with a twist in the music. The higher quality does not take away the "character" of a great artist. Although a bit more "pop-electronic" Tom is still Tom. Great sound overall and great lyrics as well. (Something I appreciated about his first album and it's still here.)
