EDITORS’ NOTES

Each song on Jack Savoretti’s fourth album was recorded the day it was written and that sense of purpose rings through his folk-rock, whether it’s the title track’s cry for revolution, “The Other Side of Love”’s rhythmic energy or the measured, irrepressible swell of “Home”. More direct than 2012’s rootsy Before the Storm, Written In Scars documents the years of frustration and contract hassles that have marked Savoretti’s career and his world-weary tones add satisfying grit to the pop hooks.

Simply Amazing

Saw JS for first time on Graham Norton Show and he sang Catapult. Was very impressed with his "Joe Cocker-ish" style. The songs performed live in Rome are my favorites, but all these songs evoke memories that any listener can appreciate. They are emotionally packed and entice you to sing them along with Jack. Even the only song not written by him, "Nobody 'Cept You" (Bob Dylan) was performed admirably. Need to hear more live performances . . . Jack definitely knows Jack!

Where Have You Been All My Life??

I’m busy sharing Jack Savoretti & this album with anyone who will give me audience. Jack’s raw, gritty voice, full of emotion and authenticity, epitomizes what it means to be cool, masculine, & revolutionary without being overbearing or fabricated like some rock albums. This musically sweeping album is dynamic, interesting, genuinely intense, & a gem of true musicianship & meaningful lyrics. It has become one of my favorite albums, especially suited for motorcycle-riding, driving through dramatic landscapes, or a TV/Film soundtrack. Jack - you are INCREDIBLE! Thank you for sharing your gifts. You have several new fans! Favorite tracks - “The Hunger”, “Don’t Mind Me”, “Home” & “The Other Side of Love.”
