One of the Best

For many reasons, one of my favorite Genesis albums. Masterfully executed Prog at its unrepentant Proggy best. Unlike much of the Prog music available from the late 60s and early 70s, the sound is clean, the layering wonderful, the storytelling hammy and fun -- this music takes itself seriously even when the song is about something silly. Forget about the analog purists who long for the days of pops, snaps and muddy arrangements. I enjoy hearing every sound clearly, as I'm sure the band intended. Being Hackett's last album, this album represents a sort of swansong to the band's prog era. It's also the last time any of their albums would showcase both the power and beauty of the guitar.

As Amazing as it gets!!!

In my opinion there is not a throwaway track on here. A masterpiece in every sense of the word. A Must have for any Genesis fan. Phil Collins vocals and drumming are at their best. Mike Rutherford and Steve Hackett provide some of the most solid guitar work in Genesis history. Tony Banks at his best on keyboards! Blood on the rooftops is one of the most overlooked Genesis songs ever with Steve Hackett providing a classical guitar intro that would make Steve Howe proud. My favorite album in the Genesis catalog!!!

One of my favorite Genesis albums remastered. Very sweet. Solves the sound volume problem that plagues a lot of old CDs when ripped to iPod. This remaster is crisp and clear.
