An unquestionable talent, but...

The influences of Marty Stuart, The Everly Brothers, and the Sweetheart-era Byrds looms large in this admirable old-school effort — but what influences! No shortage of highlights, especially A Tear From My Bloodshot Eye and the more-than-bearable lightness of She Tears Herself Away. The problem is time: At under 25 minutes, we’re asked to pay an LP price for EP length. Wild Card should either be longer (surely there are some bonus tracks out there) or cheaper. (Priced at $9.99 at the time of this review.)
