A tender collection of grey-skied singalongs may not sound like something to whip up the masses. But with their second album, Scottish quartet Travis reflect the post-Britpop comedown (“And what’s a Wonderwall anyway?” wonders frontman Fran Healy on “Writing to Reach You”) and scored big on their own terms. “Turn” boasts majestic churning guitars, “Why Does It Always Rain On Me?” reverberates with black wit, and “Driftwood” turns insignificance into a defiant battle cry.
