a new twist on classics

This album feels like a love letter to EXID’s fans. It has a new twist on their iconic sound with a remixed “LADY” (now featuring Solji!), a song reminiscent of Every Night (“Midnight”), retro styling tunes “How You Doin’” and “The Vibe”, the tear jerker thank you to fans “We Are”, and the breakup song “Me & You”. Nothing big and bold; it’s a comfortable album that assures fans we still have the same EXID and always will.

My favorite EXID album, yet!

EXID have one up-ed themselves once again with this mini album. The girls show us a variety of different sounds in not only their tittle track but also in the b sides. This album has been on repeat in my car (and pretty much everywhere else) since it dropped--I love all the songs. Me&You was a bit of a shock when i first heard it, but after several more listens and expecially after listening to the instrumental, the beat drop doesnt feel as jarring anymore and I enjoy blasting this song at high volumes. The rest of the tracks (except maybe Lady) are a little more subdued, but I enjoyed them just as much. EXID exhibit the raw charisma and combination of amazing vocals +killer rap that we always come to expect from them in The Vibe and How You Doin'. Midnight is such a soft and lovely contrast to the other tracks, while OT5 Lady throws us even further into the 90s. Solji's parts are so cheeky and sweet; I didnt realize how much I needed to here her in this track! We Are is currently my favorite song on this whole album. Not only did the members each participate in writing lyrics for this song, but they sing with such emotion and honesty...I cant help but tear up a little whenever I listen to it. We Are is definitely the most interesting song on the album, in my opinion. I'm always amazed by how EXID are able to weave in and out of different genres and sound so authentically themselves-- i'm forever impressed with their artistry. When the album name and tracklist were revealed, I first thought that this EP would be about EXID, where they take time and focus on themselves with the impending hiatus on the horizon. What it actually turned out to be, though, was a gift to their fans and to each other, a promise of their unending bond and resolve to come back together in the future. As a long time fan, I'm so thankful to the girls and also very proud of them. I'll be listening to these songs for a really long time. <3
