When From First to Last released the single “Mirror Soul” in 2025 with Kellin Quinn on vocals, many fans thought the Sleeping With Sirens vocalist would be FFTL’s new singer. In fact, that was originally the plan, but it wasn’t to be. On their first collection of songs in over a decade, From First to Last have teamed up with Dallas emo rapper and former If I Die First member John “LiL Lotus” Villagran at the mic. We Were Bleeding Anyway sees FFTL co-founders Matt Good and Travis Richter channeling their earliest musical instincts on “They Said Your Ghost Was a Promise” and “Your Name in Red Ink,” rediscovering the melodic sweet spot between post-hardcore and pop-punk that made their early 2000s output so successful.
