Not Since "Rose's Turn"

Christine Ebersole's performance of "Pink," a song that comes near the close of WAR PAINT, never ceases to astound. It is to this show what "Rose's Turn" is to GYPSY. All of Ebersole's years and skill are demonstrated in this number. From soft and intimate to belting and furious, this performance is a primer for all students and wannabes in musical theater. Ebersole takes us on a complex journey with a voice of many shades, acting skill, and theatricality. This song in its current recording deserves to take off in a big way. The show has been so careful to balance LuPone and Ebersole that no one connected with it wants to admit that this is the knockout song of the production. If it had been seen on the Tony Awards, it surely would have boosted ticket sales immediately. Overall, the score is a mixed bag, but clearly a musical theatre score and not pop, with much to admire. But "Pink" is the hit - and a substantial one at that. If you care about musicals, buy the whole album now.

Perfection!

I was in the audience on April 14th and I knew then that I must have the cast recording of War Paint. I cannot express how great the show and the music are together. A plus, top notch performances and the vocal powerhouse Patti delivers is sensational. I am so happy this is being released!

Pope is awesome ,

White and yellow diamond are great together

Hopefully some of y'all will get the reference from Steven Universe (Patti LuPone plays yellow diamond and Christine Eversole plays white diamond)
They have some of the most beautiful voices I've heard ever
