No worries. It's great!

Having listened to the whole thing now on Trivium's website, I was pleasantly surprised with how this album turned out, I was really worried about David's style showing up too much. Some of the songs still have more draiman than I personally feel they should (it's more apparent in To Believe, Brave this Storm and Villainy Thrives) but it still turned out pretty well. The first half is pretty melodic and rockin, and from At the End of this War on through to the end, it gradually get's much darker. Wake (The End is Nigh) is hands down my favorite song on the album, gave me chills the first time I heard it. It's very eerie and dark, goes from softer clean stuff and slams right into the heavy. I would say my favorite songs aside from Wake are Strife, No Way to Heal, Villainy Thrives, and Incineration The Broken World, but that's not to say that the rest of the songs are bad, cause they're all pretty easy to listen to, at least for me. This is a pretty well rounded album, I really dig how it goes from more melodic and gradually slides into more aggressive and dark music. A job well done, I do feel like it's missing that one extremely fast, heavy, and aggressive song, but then again we haven't heard the special edition yet so who knows. Just by their names, the bonus tracks No Hope for the Human Race and As I Am Exploding sound like those just might be the songs I'm looking for. Can't wait for it to release, the album is definitely not a letdown.

New sound for Trivium

I've read quite a few reviews for this album and there are a lot of mixed feelings for this new album. Compared to the other albums that they have come out with, this is the first one that David Draiman has a hand in producing. If you like David's work, than you will like this new album. With that said, that is why this album has the mixed reviews it has. Some believe that Trivium has lost their "identity". In my opinion, that couldn't be further from the truth. I believe that with David Draiman's help, they have discovered a new way to evolve and tune their sound. This new album has new epic riffs and some great new melodies that have more control and meaning than ever before. I know with this album, I have a new respect for Trivium and I hope they continue in this direction for years to come.

Different but good

A lot of fans won't like it due to less screaming but I prefer clean vocals in my metal. If you're not sure try " brave this storm" and "strife". It's my favorite album from these guys.
