Solid album

When I first streamed this album I hated it but I bought it anyways. It's a lil sad to see them steer away from the reggae but overall it's a great album and definitely has that Passafire sound!

no sure about the direction...

I'm a huge fan of Passafire but I'm not sure about this album. Where is the heavy bass line and reggae feel? I like the first two songs on the album but the rest has me confused about what they were going for here. Musically it is a nice album but I feel as if they are getting further and further away from their roots.

Disappointing

My love for Passafire stems deep. Possibly too deep to fully enjoy this album. The overall theme and feel of Vines seemed kind of generic compared to the others, and I wasn't fond of the break from their former reggae-dominant albums. Even Start From Scratch, being more experimental and having those southern qualities, still carried on that reggae feel.

Earthquake and Right Thing are by far my favorites from the album. The lyrics and, oh man Ted's voice, just really shined through. But I can only say the same for bits and pieces of the other tracks and that's what I don't like about it. Most of the tracks are skippable which is unbecoming of the Passafire I know and love.

I understand they're always growing and changing their sound and respect them for that, I just know the best is still yet to come, and Vines wasn't it.
