EDITORS’ NOTES

The American metal veterans return with a concussive new statement influenced in part by frontman Randy Blythe’s time in a Czech prison—for manslaughter charges that were eventually lifted. While Deftones’ Chino Moreno lends his distinct vocals to the hypnotic clatter of “Embers,” and Dillinger Escape Plan’s Greg Puciato adds his scream to the searing atmospherics of “Torches," it’s Blythe’s howl that propels every punishing cut. “This is a tarnished heirloom,” he bellows on “Still Echoes,” the opener he began writing while incarcerated. “Passed down through iron fists / A shameful house of doom.”

Metalheads Unite!!!!!

We need to band together and buy this album and send it to the top of the billboard charts and shock America by putting a metal album at #1 just like PANTERA did with Far Beyond Driven!

To the Bashers

To the guys that are bashing this album, GET A CLUE! This is still the same LoG that we know and love. How can you call them "sellouts?" I haven't heard anything off of this album or previous albums on my local top 40 station! Casey Kasem would roll over if this was played on top 40. Is it because their music has progressed? Or is it that you, the basement musician with his air guitar, hasn't had the commercial success that they have? How about you have mom make you another grilled cheese sandwich and you go listen to your Winger album collection. All the songs that have been released so far are good and in my opinion some are great. There is nothing wrong with exploring in the music industry. The collaboration wth Chino is awesome but if you don't like the Deftones you may not care for it. Ok I get that, so move on to the next song, say "512." If you call yourself an LoG fan and don't like this song then I don't know what to say other than get over it. Ok, what about "Erase This, Still Echoes, and Overlord?" All of these are good songs so I'm missing the point where some of you guys are bashing this newest release. This is a solid album so far and I can't wait to see them in St. Louis in August.
