EDITORS’ NOTES

After the storm comes a clearer, brighter morning. In 2015, Björk channelled a painful breakup into the dark, tumultuous Vulnicura. On this follow-up, she turns toward warmth and optimism. With flutes and harps weaved around glitchy electronics and sampled voices, her music is as expressive and unique as her vocals. “The Gate” welcomes love back into her heart amid a hymnal, delicate soundscape, and the sense of a new dawn is accented in the birdsong that hops across graceful flute melodies on the title track. “Sue Me” returns to the sorrow and recrimination of broken love, but where there was once vulnerability and despair, Björk now seems charged with resilience.

I’m so tired of close-minded people

The.Brian2016, music is so much more than the tiny close-minded circle you just placed it in...you sound nothing but ignorant with all the nonsensical babble coming from your mouth. “Normal people DOESN’T listen to this” way to use proper grammar. Also, Björk is an Icelandic musician, so why should any of her songs be in English? I mean, if you would actually listen she is speaking English...better English than you speak at that. Also, people in today’s society wouldn’t even notice this album came out, because they only care about the new Taylor Swift album, or some other popular garbage. Artists like Björk are an alternative for people who are tired of the same cookie cutter garbage pop on the radio. Go and listen to your mainstream crap and let people with open minds listen and review the music. I can tell this album is going to be great Björk! Keep up the great work!

It's been a visual thing

I've liked Bjork since the Sugarcubes. But I stopped buying her solo albums after Vespertine. I just don't like the direction she went off in musically. And I like some really stange and left of center music but Bjork's been in this direction several albums into it starting with Volta to present. Granted her album covers are magnificent. But that's about it. It's all visual lately for Bjork in my opinion. I'll stick to her earlier work (like Telegram and Homogenic) and The Sugarcubes thank you.

I love Bjork, BUT...

I hope this new album actually includes SONGS, with melodies and vocals. Her songs in the past few years have become nothing more than surreal and random sounds. I am all for evoking an ethereal moment, but please, Bjork, we don't need album after album exporing your vocal range and the range of random flutes. Songs....where are the songs?
