Are you Holding?

I stumbled upon this cd in a record shop in St. Louis, and both it and John Hartford have since become my most prized musical possessions. Reverent of the bluegrass tradition, but irreverent of almost everything else, it's endlessly funny, thoughtful, witty, and nostalgic for times that were. It's also fit with some of the greatest bluegrass players of all time. If you've gotten this far in finding him, it's hard to imagine you won't feel like the rest of us.

Aereo-Plain: Excellent music!

Whether you consider it bluegrass, newgrass, folk music, or a modern version of old-time music, John Hartford delivered a superb, eccentric, and eclectric sound on this special album. This is not only my favorite John Hartford album; it is also one of my all-time favorite albums, period. I strongly recommend that you purchase this album and the Aereo-Plain outakes album, as well. We miss you John, and we thank you for this true gem. (posted by James Elliott, old-time banjo player and vocalist)
