Coltrane Both Directions
This is the best Coltrane in my view - the period between his most classic jazz work and his emergence as one of the leading lights of free-form jazz. This recording - this expertly mastered release of a tape lost for decades, does not have the larger soundstage and spaciousness of some of his other albums, but the sound is very clear and hi-fi, and given the circumstances it's a treasure to possess and a pleasure to hear.
