Well worth the wait...

This album is absolutely outstanding! As with most Black Lab fans, I have been waiting forever for them to make an acoustic album and this came out better then I ever could have hoped for. Every single person I have played this for has fallen in love with it, regardless of their musical preferences.

I was lucky enough to have been in the studio with them while they were recording, and I couldn't believe how gorgeous everything sounded and had a hard time imagining it could possibly sound that good on the album. Well, it does. Though of course nothing could compare to hearing it played in person, this album makes you feel like you are right there in the room with them. And hearing your old favorites played in this new way makes you fall in love with them all over again.

Paul & Andy - thank you so much for bringing this work of art to all your fans! It was well worth the long wait.

I'm a Black Lab Addict!

I admit, I am Black Lab's biggest fan. But, I am honest and wouldn't write a review that I didn't believe whole heartedly. This is by far my 2nd favorite Black Lab cd of all time. (Your Body Above Me will always be my first true love). This album is raw emotion, lust, love, and heartache crafted into something that you don't listen to, you expirience it. And then you have to listen to it again just to be sure you didn't miss a note or breathy sigh. I fell in love with "Circus Lights" years ago and listening to it broken down and put back together made me appreciate it that much more. I'm an aspiring singer/songwriter myself and I could only dream of writing such moving music and lyrics. Well done, Paul! Well done!

No words, just amazing!

I've been a fan of Black Lab since 1997's Your Body Above Me, and this band never ceases to amaze me with its versatility. The band is everything from heavy alternative to techno and everything in between. With Unplugged, some of the best Black Lab songs are stripped down to Paul Durham's voice and an acoustic guitar. Durham's voice is the best thing about this band. It's simultaneously sexy, haunting, raw and honest and his range is absolutely epic. EPIC. My favorite song here is "See The Sun," because it's just so vastly different from the original (which, although it's a great song, isn't a favorite of mine). This stripped down version really gives the song a whole new feel, a depth of emotion that wasn't there before. "Fall (Shadows & Blinds)" is a very, very close second favorite, a song about falling in love and falling hard, with lyrics that are just spellblinding. New song "Tomorrow" is another highlight on the album. Definitely work picking up whether you are new to the band or a long time fan. One of my favorites from Black Lab!
