13 Songs, 1 Hour

EDITORS’ NOTES

Recorded in Tokyo during their Hell Bent for Leather tour, Unleashed In the East shows British heavy-metal gods Judas Priest at their most ferocious as they shred through most of their ’70s-era classics. Though the album isn’t 100 percent live—overdubs of Rob Halford’s vocals were later recorded—the quintet sound unstoppable on “Sinner,” their intricate riffs giving way to evil guitar wails. Proto-speed-metal anthem “Exciter” is tackled at breakneck tempo, while “Victim of Changes” culminates in one of Halford’s signature falsetto screams.

Best live album ever!

I'm surprised at the lack of reviews for one of the greatest live albums, from one of the most original Metal bands ever! Get out your waterpipe and kick back to some old school goodness!

Judas Priest at its best

Heavy metal changed after this album. It got harder and more powerful. The studio versions of these songs were mostly mediocre. It was live that Priest wailed. The album they were touring when this record was made was their first really heavy studio album: Hell Bent for Leather, which was the first studio recrord of their's I loved. The album thunders from beginning to end, with songs that were almost balads becomming rock anthems. Perhaps it is because the songs in this album were created earlier that they were better than what Priest became. But with this album and British Steel, Judas Priest was at one time the best heavy metal band in the world.

They are all great but this is greatest Judas Priest album

I bought this album as part of one of those music clubs when I was 13. I’ve loved Judas Priest and the music on this album ever since. The guys put on a special show and the sound is so much better and deeper live than the studio albums. Can’t wait to see them live this year.
