Though his early albums were dominated by raucous, rule-breaking dancehall, Buju Banton’s sixth LP is infused with a spirit of Rastafarian consciousness and benevolence. Sax and organ turn the softly sung “23rd Psalm” into a hymn, while Banton’s telltale rugged voice contrasts with the smooth delivery of Luciano on “We’ll Be Alright.” Rancid contribute their chiming guitars to “No More Misty Days,” and the digi-dancehall of “Woman Dem Phat” harks back to Banton’s profane past.
