I heard some of datarock's songs on Tap Tap Revenge and I kept playing. They're soo catchy!

New-aged 80s music with a meaning

These guys really look at the effects of technology on our lives and translate it into a sound with meaningful lyrics behind it. New technology has forced us to confront ideas like immortality, love and human interaction; and it's fundamentally changed the way we do these things.

On a musical level, Datarock is funky, spacey and the guitarist knows what they're doing. The vocals are Depeche Mode-like if you're into that kind of thing (I am).

I like how these guys capture the technological phenomena that arose out of the 80s (cell phones, internet, computers) and capture its essence through technological sounds that came from the time (like synthesizers, etc.). Good stuff.

The whole album bangs.

Proof... sad state of affairs for main stream music industry

Saw these guys at The Studio at Webster Hall this Friday in New York City. Had no idea what to expect. Holy bleep my friends! Their show was insanely good and the songs were infectious. Great stage presence and personalities, great performance and solid musicianship exhibited by every one of them. Why in God's name did it take so long for me to find them?!!!

More people should find them. If any one is a Talking Heads fan, then all of DATAROCK's albums are must haves. They should be huge. Please play more shows in NYC and around the States!
