A Sonic Voyage

I’m a fan of Jake Shimabukuro and I have to say that this collection is nothing short of amazing. These instrumentals paint many journeys with sky scapes and landscapes, some not of this world.

Finaly a Jake for The Masses

We picked up Jake's new album yesterday. Had a Best Picture (2020) Pandemic Movie Night with the Ohana... Slipped Jake's orange vinyl LP on the turntable, to accompany our Korean fare dinner... & disovered an ambient Trio perfect backdrop for dining & company. Wish You Were Here is the obvious first love, but Rachel James vocals on Landslide's is a grand finale that lefts us amazed. The rest of the album's very ambient in style. We felt it was going to be an album that grows on us with each listen. Like the classics were listening to prior to Jake Shimabukuro Trio, Pink Floyd's Dark Side of The Moon & Yes, Close to The Edge.... not that we're comparing those two classics to JST, no, just sayiong those were two albums that took a few listens, time to grow on the listener, becoming the classics they are today. One could easily add Pink Floyd's Wish You Were Here LP to that list... & I totally appreciate Jake covering Wish You Were Here. Certainly Sid's smiling a bigger smile in Heaven By The Way, Which One is Pink? ...Right?? Thank Jake.
