EDITORS’ NOTES

On their sixth album, Swedish black-metal mercenaries Watain move away from some of the rock 'n' roll implications of 2013’s The Wild Hunt and turn up the chaos. Tracks like “Furor Diabolicus,” “Ultra (Pandemoniac),” and opener “Nuclear Alchemy” roar with rabid ferocity, while “Teufelsreich,” “Towards the Sanctuary,” and closer “Antikrists Mirakel”—complete with an arcane spoken-word monologue from Watain vocalist and mastermind Erik Danielsson—seethe and pulse with the kind of fiery, satanic intensity that pervades the band’s blood-soaked live shows.

I am satisfied....

i am a fan of black metal,in its true form.Watain is a pack of wolves that also are a band creating very real black metal. that being said, this new release is a solid one and hearkens back to" sworn to the dark" with a definite atmosphere of ceremony. which will translate well in a live situation i will definitely be attending. thanks Watain and hails from SD california!!!!

Awesome and heavy, but very quiet

This album deserves 5 stars, but it seems to be recorded with the volume down. On a playlist it is about half the volume of other songs that come on.

Nuclear Alchemy

The nuclear alchemy mp3 seems to be corrupted. It won't play at all.
