On Tremaine Neverson’s seventh album, introspection tempers the bedroom swagger of 2014’s Trigga. There’s authentic conflict and melancholy in his voice as he wrestles with a burgeoning desire to settle down on slow jam “Playboy.” On “She Lovin It,” an acoustic soul cut supercharged by a funk bassline, he even sounds shocked by an ex’s lascivious advances. He’s still helplessly subject to his libido though, letting out a primal roar and promising to “turn the bed into a jungle” over the trap inflections of “Animal.”
