NEXT LEVEL

Quite possibly the most amazing & awe inspiring visual/auditory experience from REFN/MARTINEZ to date. Beautiful. Brutal. Polarizing. No coercion from this reviewer as to “why” TOTDY is brilliant. If you don’t like it, it’s not for you…

Rhythm Oriented ,

Multi-faceted Piece of Music that Accentuates Refn’s Visionary Series

Cliff Martinez returns as visionary director Nicholas Winding Refn’s trusted film score composer, but this time “ups” his game by creatively interspersing acoustic instruments. The result is a surprisingly palatable feast that has both sweet and salty notes, and at the same time aesthetically quenches the listener’s thirst for originality.
While revisiting his signature sounds from Drive, The Neon Demon and other scores, additional musical layers have been added here: the high strings in “Starlight Cantina” in the backdrop of a heart beat-like rhythm, piano and French horn painting a lush musical palette in “The High Priestess of Death”, the angelic quality created by soaring soprano vocal tones in “Viggo and Diana” and the ominous cello sounds welcoming danger in "Naked Guy Murder" - then going into a sonic battle with war drums in “Kill Me Clean and Fast.” Bravo to an auteur who has brought his craft to a whole new level. As a result, Martinez’ score brings Too Old to Die Young to an aesthetic place that has arguably never been reached by a television series. Bravo!

The Show is TERRIBLE, Music is good

The Show #TOTDY is so ridiculous, dialog, acting, are atrocious. The p.......a.......c......i......n.......g is unbelievably slow. It was as if no one was there to edit it.....at all. At a minimum 80% of it could have been cut out, it is ludicrous (not weird) and unimportant to any part of this parody of a story. You literally could get up go make a sandwich or six in between line delivery
