Tonight I'm Yours

Tonight I'm Yours

In 1981, Rod Stewart picked up on synth-pop and rode New Wave. He positively bounces to the nervy guitars and fizzy synths of “Tonight I’m Yours (Don’t Hurt Me),” his vocals chiming with the chorus’ bell-like keyboards, while “Young Turks” burbles and chugs along to the story of kids trying to escape their small-town lives. Stewart still satisfies his rock audience, turning in a soulful reading of Ace’s smoky “How Long” and ripping up “Tora, Tora, Tora (Out With the Boys),” a Stonesy barn-burner.
