So good.

I don’t know why, but I feel like they are the modern revival of The Psychedelic Furs with their own cool, summery vibe. And it is glorious.

A Rare Gem

Minks delivers an album rinsed, but not soaked, in 80s sensibilities and style. Avoiding the lazy trend to simply mock an era they weren't a part of, Minks offers a stable of songs that are sexy, clever, deceptively intricate and well-crafted, hooking you quickly, then hooking you again before they're over. Every track holds up as its own thoughtful masterpiece with a nice little story to support it, yet as a collection they play fair: Put "Tides End" on shuffle-mode and the vibe continues uninterrupted by some dreaded Ugly Duckling that always seems to blemish an otherwise perfect delivery. Production is just raw and minimal enough, allowing the listener to absorb what they want to, while taking the MTV 1.0 fan back to summer days when an album was put on auto-repeat while you tried to fall in love with the cute, shy type across the pool. One listen to this album and you, too will fall in love with this chart-shy beauty. I sure did, and I'm not letting go.
