Instead you get Perth singer/songwriter Stella Donnelly raising a quiet ruckus, shaking off lame suitors (“Mechanical Bull”) and showing her vocal range (“Boys Will Be Boys” and “Mean to Me”). Her plectrum-flicking guitar skills are backed by a self-assured voice that invites comparisons to Jeff Buckley and Corinne Bailey Rae.
