At last!

I had given up on finding "new" music--everything was too big box (studioized) for me. This album draws you in and you actually feel something from the music, the lyrics and the hauntingly psychedelic voice. Thank goodness for Pandora and some hip friends who got me started in the right places (Marissa Nadler).

Hope Sandoval has only made wonderful music. This is no exception; it is lovely, moody, and haunting.
She is a real artist who does not care of fame's trappings. She cares to create good music.

If you are like me and have times in life that call for music that can carry your emotions along without demanding all your attention then this is for you. It's Norah Jones on psychedelics, and I absolutely LOVE Hope's voice. This album has some very haunting, almost spooky tunes on it. For instance, Sets the Blaze could be put to great use in a psychological thriller, like Sixth Sense. Trouble is probably my favorite. Great all around album and comeback.

Now, for the next album she does I want her take some risks with her voice. She mostly stays in her safe zone, and I want to hear what happens when she stretches her wings.
