Very Promising

I don't agree very much with the review written, so for those of you considering this album, ignore what iTunes has written down.

Generally I am a fan of a wide variety of music such as Prince, Costello, Redding, Massive Attack, etc., but I do love bands like The Academy Is..., Fall Out Boy, Gym Class Heroes, etc.. I went looking for some music that I could listen to for really any reason and I found these guys. This album is wonderful and something I have listened to repeatedly (and the only other artists that have passed the test of (recent) time for me are Fall Out Boy, Nirvana, and Lucky Boys Confusion). They have an edge a bit like Panic! at the Disco, but with less 'poppy techno' and more alike to the raw sound of Fall Out Boy and The Academy Is.... While Dan Young's voice isn't up to par with Patrick Stump's extremely soulful, tenor voice (in my opinion), it fits the lyrics and the melodies, and he can hit those high notes very well. He and the bassist both add a good balance to the guitar and the beats.

The lyrics themselves are astounding for anyone willing to listen. Truly this isn't just another album about love and heartbreak, but something much deeper; something I personally am very eager to see developed in the future.

While I usually find myself humming things (of this sort of 'scene' music), like, 'Thnks Fr Th Mmrs', 'Lying Is The Most Fun A Girl Can Have Without Taking Her Clothes Off', etc., I was surprised to be reciting lyrics from 'A Wolf in Sheep's Clothing' and 'Secret Love and the Fastest Way to Loneliness' and eventually becoming very familiar with the songs.

Needless to say, Fueled by Ramen never lets me down when I'm looking for some music to fit any mood of mine, and they led me right to them (and Gym Class Heroes, before they suddenly exploded with popularity), and this album is a great investment, something you can listen to many times and never tire of.

Since I love about every song on this album, the only song I think really needs any work is '...But What Will They Say,' but that is probably just because I don't relate directly to it. Otherwise, these guys are going to go somewhere very big and I can't wait to see it!

This Providence is amazing. I saw them live last night 9/11/06 and they put on such an awesome show. A lot of people have been saying they sound a lot like gatsby's american dream. while that might be true, how many bands don't have any simularites. You have to get your influence from somewhere. Tracks I love, 1,2,4,6
