

Shortly after the 1981 release of their second album, Mask, goth pioneers Bauhaus played London's Hammersmith Palais; This Is for When documents the band in their spooky prime. These live tracks showcase the unpredictable scratch of Peter Murphy's voice and David J's deviant funk basslines as they cut through spiraling, distorted punk ("In the Flat Field," "Dark Entries"), glam-cabaret cuts ("Silent Hedges," "Hollow Hills"), and unhinged dark-dance jams ("Kick in the Eye," "Dancing").
