A Wrecking Ball that lifts up as opposed to tearing down

Bruce never fails to capture the tenor of the nation’s or our own individual struggles and joys. This collection of songs contains powerful chunks of angst, despair, hope and redemption. The song Wrecking Ball is more than just an ode to The Meadowlands. Bruce is able to reflect his (and our own) impulse to hold onto the cockiness of youth while recognizing the passage of time by including the Born to Run riff in the song’s closing. His music still speaks to me in my 50’s like it did in my 30’s.
