A good album that reeks of promises yet to be fulfilled

There are definitely signs of another anthem, lurking within this band, just waiting to blow the minds of today's millennials.

The vocals of Liv Warfield, a one-time protege of Prince, fit cleanly into a sound that appears heavily influenced by Nancy and Heart. The sounds are a wonderful, modernized, echo of that which was pioneered by Zepplin and Heart. However, the track Get Loud, while enjoyable, fails to fullfill its potential. I waited and waited for the overwhelming power that, by its title, the song seemed to demand be expressed . The tracks sung by Nancy are extremely enjoyable and revive the burning question of why did we do not hear more vocals by her in the past.

Bringing it all together, the album feels like its a 'test of the waters' to see if it will float. The potential is definitely there and I look forward to a more considered and energetic followup. One that brings Nancy to the forefront, equally responsible for the bands vocal personality with Liv.

Some bright spots

Get Loud and Not Giving Up are strong, but the Heart covers feel like filler (do we really need yet another version of These Dreams?!). Some of the other tunes seem to fall somewhere in the middle. The band has promise but this album feels like a rush job. Wish they would have taken more time and got songs as strong as the first two. And next go 'round, leave the Heart covers for the live shows and not your record. Just a humble opinion.

Powerful Line Up

You can hear the joy in this music. I hope to see them live, because I can only imagine they are phenomenal.
