There And Back Again (Reimagined)

There And Back Again (Reimagined)

In 2022, K-pop soloist Eric Nam released his second English-language album, There and Back Again, seven tracks of an idiosyncratic approach to neo-soulful R&B—and a far cry from the maximalist stacked harmonies of most contemporary Korean pop music. In 2023, to celebrate a decade spent in the music industry, Nam released an updated version of the LP with new arrangements, produced by Docskim (Seo Taiji, BTS), which strips back those seven songs to their core. “What If (Reimagined)” has evolved from electro-pop to an energetic acoustic number recalling Ed Sheeran. “Wildfire (Reimagined)” is all falsetto and orchestral strings; “Lost on Me (Reimagined)” introduces dream-pop production and reverbed vocal runs. Overall, upbeat tracks have been slowed and made more delicate: an intimate gift to Nam fans who’ve stayed with him all those years.
