EDITORS’ NOTES

Now approved by pop royalty, the Bangor troubadour has hit his impressive stride. Put out by Ed Sheeran on his Gingerbread Man label and executive produced by avowed fan Elton John, Vance’s third album was recorded in Nashville with Tom Waits producer Jacquire King. That’s helped lace a swampy authenticity into his melodic roots-rock, particularly on “Upbeat Feelgood.” Whether it’s on the uplifting rumble of “Noam Chomsky Is a Soft Revolution” or the lovelorn “She Burns,” Vance’s poise is consistently excellent: never overreaching, never unnecessarily understated, his voice rings with soul and honesty throughout.

Feeds your soul

If this album doesn't cut through to you and feed your soul, well... you just might be dead inside. Burden is mind blowing beautiful, it's my favorite track. I could talk about each track, but I love them all. Buy this album!

Holy. Crap.

Wow! Saw this guy open for Josh Groban a couple years ago. I figured that he’d be just another dude off the street trying to get noticed but boy what a surprise!! This album is incredible! Hoping to see more celeb collabs with great artists and plenty more albums from Foy! He is what we need in the music business!! 🎶
