STS9 Live Sound in Studio

I think there are a lot of fans out there who always hoped that STS9 would translate their live venue sound to the studio. This album, after just hearing the singles and knowing a few of the future tracks from live performances already (namely World Go Round, Totem, and New Dawn, New Day), appears to have finally captured that dance, groove, funk sound that they exhibit live. Finally, it is in the studio and perfected!

I do not know if Alana (the new bassist) is to the reason for this abrupt change to their studio production, but her presence is surely felt on this album; it is very, very impressive. This album is a must own for any electronic/disco fan, and it probably should be considered for electronic album of the year just based on the few singles I have heard thus far! September 2nd is going to GET LOUD, SO LOUD!!

THANK YOU STS9!

Wow!

This album is worth buying just for Give & Take alone. Get Loud is quite a funky one also that I can't wait to move to in a live setting. The album also features not only vocals from Betty Idol and Maureen Murphy, but it also features a few staples of STS9 2.0's repertoire (all hail Alana Rocklin!!) such as New Dawn New Day, Totem, and World Go Round. This Give & Take though, oh my... it begins as a fun dance number and launches into something that's crushingly beautiful at the end. Some people have stated this is the best Hunter Brown has ever sounded in the studio, and I'm inclined to agree. I'm not only his fan club president, I'm also a member! Ho ho! Booyah!

Highly anticipated album arrives.

The genre breaking band Sound Tribe Sector 9 is set to release their first studios album since 2011. This will be their first studio album since Alana Rocklin joined the band to replace bassist David Murphy. Rocklin is a force to be reckoned with, in her ability and stage presence. Newer sounds emerge on this album namely the heavy disco influence and use of vocals. Yet, they don't let go of their roots and older sounds and familiar structure will please the seasoned fan. I hope you all enjoy and can have a positive experience with The Universe Within.
