Editors’ Notes True Sounds of Liberty have enjoyed their artistic freedom with vigor since forming in 1978, kicking around fist-pumping SoCal hardcore and New Wave goth; they’ve even hit the Sunset Strip with Guns N' Roses. Their tenth album, The Trigger Complex, is a summation of everything they do well, serving up sex and sleaze over swinging glam riffs ("Why Can't We Do It Again"), merging mascara-smeared alienation and synthesizer moans with insistent punks beats ("Sometimes"), and swaddling gothic strings around a triumphant power ballad ("Nothing Ever Lasts").
