13 Songs, 41 Minutes

EDITORS’ NOTES

True Sounds of Liberty have enjoyed their artistic freedom with vigor since forming in 1978, kicking around fist-pumping SoCal hardcore and New Wave goth; they’ve even hit the Sunset Strip with Guns N' Roses. Their tenth album, The Trigger Complex, is a summation of everything they do well, serving up sex and sleaze over swinging glam riffs ("Why Can't We Do It Again"), merging mascara-smeared alienation and synthesizer moans with insistent punks beats ("Sometimes"), and swaddling gothic strings around a triumphant power ballad ("Nothing Ever Lasts").

I Loved The Joykiller....

....And this to me sounds like the progression that band would have taken, and Not necessarily TSOL. Now, I Like This Album A Lot!
Its Musicians growing and taking chances, and doing what they need to do musically, and thats a Good Thing! The songs are well crafted, the keys add a nice touch(ala Joykiller), and Jack's singing sounds better than ever. Simply put, this is a fun well made album, by a band thats been unfairly pigeon holed more than twice in its 35 plus years. It's going to bum out a lot of Old Punks, so that makes me like it even more. Good Stuff TSOL.
