The thrill Indeed

This was my first Roxy Music album purchase and the catalyst for me to explore their entire catalog. While it may lack some of the dark mysteries present in their previous album "Stranded," the songwriting craft and lyrical vision here focus on deeper explorations of themes on romantic obsession, vanity, youthful indolence and of course, decadence. Production-wise, this one does away with the moody atmosherics of previous albums and replaces it with power and raw intensity; plus a bit of controlled chaos. Phil Manzanara's guitar is more out front this outing; particularly with gems like the title track, All I Want Is You and Prairie Rose. A must have album that is brilliant and has few equals as a piece of art for and of its time.
