Amazing Chamber Musicians!!!!

I believe this live album has opened new depths in Dream Theater's Music. As an ensemble alone, they are by far the best I've heard. This album incorporates the amazing interaction between Dream Theater and the Orchestra. In this case, they've become soloists with an Orchestra. Thus, becoming Chamber Musicians. I recommend those who are not interested in purchasing this album do so. It is a wonderful opportunity to listen to one of the worlds greatest bands to date.

Dream Theater Live with an orchestra is pure magic.

This is the cleanest and best live recording of DT that I have yet to hear. The orchestra gives the sound a smootheness that gives me goosbumps... I really liked the Metallica S and M, and similarly this album has a rich warm sound that cannot be described with words alone. I just wish they were selling the full album on Itunes and not select songs...

Musical craftsmen!

I must admit that I did not know what to expect when I purchased this DVD. I heard of Dream Theater but never really listened to their music. I was getting sick of listening to the same old bubblegum AOR on the radio (notice the endless number of the "hot new" bands sounding as if they only know the same 10 chords and have the same person writing their music?) and picked up the DVD. All I can say is that I was floored after the first 30 seconds! Earlier in my life, I had an opportunity to play with an international orchestra and played guitar in a rock band before college/grad school, military commitment, family, career and other "business" got in the way of my musical interests. Without getting too heavy about it, this DVD fired up my dormant interest enough that I immediatley picked up my old neglected Fender, plugged it in and the old musical braincells started firing again. Their musicianship has inspired positive action in my own life. After listening to Dream Theater, anything you hear on the radio sounds like kids banging pots together. I am hooked.
