If you’re going to remake one of the most beloved movies of all time, you may as well make it bigger. And it doesn’t get much bigger than Beyoncé and Donald Glover. The soundtrack to Jon Favreau’s CGI reimagining brings back some familiar elements—Hans Zimmer, who composed the score for the 1994 version, returns, while generation-defining classics like “Hakuna Matata” and “Can You Feel the Love Tonight” are reworked with some help from new blood Billy Eichner and Seth Rogen. But this isn’t strictly a nostalgia exercise—Elton John is also back, but with an ebullient new crowd-pleaser, “Never Too Late.”
