EDITORS’ NOTES

Alter Bridge's fifth album is a blistering statement on a society filled with disillusionment and distrust, with Myles Kennedy’s soaring yelp and Mark Tremonti’s guitar heroics leading the band’s charge. Pummeling tracks like the demanding “Show Me a Leader” and “This Side of Fate” pair despairing lyrics with grand structures inspired by classic heavy metal; “My Champion” is hooky and hopeful, its uplifting message energized by a sing-along chorus. The Last Hero asks hard questions, and Alter Bridge’s top-notch skills and metal-edged compositions give them added urgency.

wish they had a different vocalist

Not a fan of Myles voice, very high pitch and sounds like he is singing through his nose at times.

Alter Bridge Fan For Life

I was 6 when my dad came home with the Blackbird CD in 2007. At the time I had been listening to mostly what was on the radio in my home town of Buffalo, NY (pop, 80’s pop). After listening to that album, I fell In love with rock and Alter Bridge. From that day I’ve made sure I’ve listened to every AB album the day it dropped. I still haven’t been to an AB concert yet (one of my biggest regrets). But, each and every album (I can barely believe it) gets better and better. After ABIII I thought they’d reached their peak, Boy was I wrong. Fortress was awesome. It dropped the same time as I was moving to Minnesota. It was a huge part of my life especially when I was trying to adjust to my new surroundings. It felt like home listening to it. Addicted to Pain is my favorite AB song ever (just above Slip to the Void). And then in 2016 this album dropped. I have listened to this album at least 300 times through. It is by far the best AB album in existence. I could not believe this album had only 4 reviews when I came to see if people felt the same was i did about it. So, I’ve decided to write this review. AB, thank you for making amazing music and being a huge influence in my life. I cannot wait for Walk The Sky to come out this October (on my grandfathers birthday too). I am DEFINITELY coming to your Minneapolis show this year. Can’t wait to see you all!

Best wishes,
Ben Lane of Minnesota
