George Usher and Lisa Burns are two veterans of the New York City scene who were compelled to work together through some very difficult times. In the few years leading up to this album, Usher battled cancer and discovered that the chemo treatments left him unable to work with his hands. Burns offered to assist and put Usher’s poetic musings to music. Mixed by Eric “Roscoe” Ambel (Del Lords), the album reflects its title, with a somber sense of the past and a guarded but hopeful look to the future. Guitarist Dave Schramm adds enlightening touches, while Usher and Burns’ harmonies bring life to “Depression Glass” and “My Precious Wisdom.”
