For all their beach-bum slacker airs, Australian trio Dune Rats tighten up their snide, potty-mouthed pop-punk in a big way on their second album, produced by Fidlar’s Zac Carper. Rocketing anthems like “Scott Green” and “Buzz-Kill” may careen with noisy momentum, but they’re knowingly focused at the same time. There’s also a surprising sweetness at play, between the giddy nostalgia of “6 Pack” (“My brother bought us a six pack”) and the jangly melodies shining through the fist-pumping brashness of “Braindead” and “Mary.”
