Evening Primrose

So... funny story.... nobody remembers that is was originaly an hour-long made for TV-musical staring Charmian Car (Lizle in the movie verson of The Sound of Music) and Anthony Perkins (thats right- Norman of Pshyco fame) and while the coupling might blow your mind at first its really worth watching (Unfortunatly the only known copy is at the Museum of TV and Radio in New York, but if your in NYC then its absolutly worth going there to see it). When they did the original both actors were young, which is fitting because the characters are young.

So...longwinded history lesson later... this recording is really suprior to the previous ones that iTunes has carried because of the obvious youth that the singers have... YOUTH IS NOT A BAD THING! It always irks me when old Dames play young girls, because the parts wernt written for that old-woman sound, which is not really better or worse, but just different. (Which is why I agree, contrary to most musical-buffs, with Andrew Lloyd Weber's decision to cast a young Emmy Rossum rather than an aging Sarah Brightman in the Phantom movie-but thats another argument.)

Good music!

I downloaded the album cos I wanted to hear NPH singing - I liked his job in Dr. Horrible.

The only thing I can't figure out is... What's the difference between this version and the $11.99 version? They both have the same number of songs.
