Editors’ Notes The keys to The Field’s mesmeric electronic music are easy to identify: repetition, and more repetition. The effects are far more varied. "The Follower" opens with hard-driving techno before micro-samples settle over the rhythm like fine dust. In “Pink Sun,” abstracted guitar glimmers amid an ambient language of vocal stammers and sighs. “Raise the Dead” draws on a solitary cymbal and what sounds like an orchestra tuning up from a mile away. Fleet beats and tight circuits are the Swedish producer’s sanctuary as he uncovers mystical properties in the subtlest sounds with monk-like devotion.
