Truly Revolutionary

Kate Bush is a remarkable artist and “The Dreaming” is a exceptional entry to her body of work. It was not well received by the critics of the day, which is dumbfounding. Personally I feel that Kate Bush has never made a weak album or musical misstep. I have come to the conclusion that critics like record labels, what something that is somewhat familiar, and when an artist moves into unexplored territory it is troubling. While the many consider “The Hounds of Love” to be her best album. it would have been impossible if she had not started her journey with “The Dreaming”. I would say that if she had not made “The Dreaming” and gone straight to “The Hounds of Love” critics would have found it equally disconcerting. It would be impossible to pick a particular work of hers to isolate as ‘the best’. Each album is unique, and explores a different themes, but each draws you out of your own life and into it’s own. Each performance is filled with empathy and humanity and transcends the era in which it was recorded.

Best of Bush

This is one of my favorite albums. The production, lyrics, and her voice make an incredible wall of sound - equal or better than Sgt. Peppers. It’s a work of genius.

Nothing else compares

This is simply the most hallucinogenic album ever made, rich with textures, rhythms, and details like no one else has even attempted. Gets a bit dark sometimes though, be warned. But so so worth it. Check out Leave It Open - loud! - if you want just a little taste first.
