GREAT ALBUM.

Do NOT listen to to the album description. Cake doesnt even make jokes in their songs, so I have no idea what this guy is talking about. "I Will Survive" is simply a cover of a great song, they are NOT in any way making fun of it. Definitely listen to "The Distance" and if you liked that then you should check out "Stickshifts and Safety Belts" and "Nugget". Overall a superb album but not CAKE's best.

Cake

Someone at Apple's got some Cake up their little white fanny : \

I have to say I feel the almost complete opposite - The Distance' is by far the most sophomoric track on the album, which clearly explains why it's the most popular (and appeals to bland a-holes like the person who reviewed this album). The rest of the record is actually much more complex, with great songs throughout.

I love this album. I love The Distance. This IS my favorite cake album and has been since 1996 when it blew my mind then. I love every album Cake has made. As radio friendly as The Distance is, it still comes from an era before the days of pirating. It holds up on an album that was made to be poppy and off at the same time. This album is superb from start to finish.
