Editors’ Notes MercyMe chose a Christmas release to return to their rock roots after striking gold with Christian and adult contemporary fans. Layered arrangements, retooled melodies, plenty of brass, and even a little Texas twang make for a multi-faceted holiday mix. The sentimental “Joseph’s Lullaby” is a welcome addition to the Christmas canon, and “Little Drummer Boy” allows the guys to let loose, while their cover of “God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen” builds with a dramatic, cinematic intensity that elevates the carol to new heights.
